anyone here enjoy tripping alone? or have you ever had a bad trip that completyely turned you off to tripping alone? most importantly though: any suggestions of good stuff to do while tripping alone?

i've typed this before but I'm willing to type it up again:
one night a friend and I were going to shroom at his house, and to make a long story short, we ate a half eighth each at around 9 o clock, and smoked a few bowls, and by 9:30 we were already starting to come up quickly, and shit happened and it turned out that my mom wanted me to come home for the night because of a misunderstanding between our parents (so i had to confront her trippin, which ive done before on acid, not fun at all). well after convincing her i was normal i went into my room, bummed out but not bad tripping. i went online to talk to people, which was kinda fun, but overall, most of the trip i ended up going I'm bored...i saw some cool visuals, beautiful stuff but not amazing, and in the middle of the peak I thought the cops were outside my house ready to bust me (sounds were really fucked up, so I thought I heard a police car pull up in front) i looked outside my window every so often, ready for them to just storm the house (which OBVIOUSLY never happened lol)
altogether not a bad trip, just somewhat boring. i wouldn't trip alone again unless I had something to do
actually I had some stuff i coulda done, but never thought of doing, so it is partly my fault. a lot of people enjoy it, so if you have something to do or somewhere to go i'd say go for it

All my high dose mushrooms trips have been alone. I used to do LSD and I couldn't handle more than 1/2 hit. I feel very confortable eating shrooms alone and do not like eating more than 3.5g around or with anyone...Suggestions, start with a low dose, prepare..ringer off the phone, drinks cold, music ready ect. Be well rested, be in a great mood and most importantley always rember you have taken a psychadelic substance and that is why you feel the way you do. Always go with the trip never fight it, good or bad. ...On big doses you may want to right down somewhere that you ate mushrooms at a certain time (incase you forget) relax if you can't comprehend time or much of anything and just remind yourself your tripping balls...........

I prefer tripping alone myself, because it is a journey inward for me, other people usually end up holding me back from the places I want to go, nothing worse than a stupid tripper who won't shut the fuck up when you are trying to just let go.

I prefer people. I like having other people to talk to. Plus, I dont really like talking to people not tripping, cuz they dont see things the way I do. Its like, I wanna talk to my own kind, and my own kind is trippin.
Not that Im an asshole or anything, but its easier to relate to these people. Others usually dismiss the condition (plus they dont know how fragile you are and might try to scare you...assholes...)

Either is good.
When I trip by myself I talk to God, write, whatever, and try to stay away from the mirror.
Tripping around other people is cool if they're cool, doesn't matter if they're tripping or not. However, I love all the fun ways to trip out other trippers.

i've never tripped alone, but i think it could be an equally enlightening experience, if not more so. it's all about whether or not you like being by yourself at all...
and i'm definitely with you on avoiding non-trippers...i've had the misfortune of dealing with sober people while on acid who were very close minded, and basically tried to freak me out and dismissed everything i said...quite the frustrating experience

i prefer solo tripping, i tripped once with some friends who smoked some bud and the whole time they were ruining the experience for me, tryin to get me lost, playin loud heavy metal, and just really ruining the experience for me.

some of the most beautiful experiences of my life have been tripping solo, and tend to be very affirming and therapeutic. usually i do not even pay attention to other people in the room unless they are talking to me, and often not even then. as for what to do, i find that while coming down, if you like cigars, smoke a good one. the nicotine potentiates the feeling of a benevolent universe, and the smoke transforms into fun shapes. the taste becomes immensely complex, too. romeo y juliettas do it for me. watching adventurous and colorful movies can be fun (5th element is my tripping-fav; the flying cars make me feel like im skydiving:). fireworks are incredible, but *very* dangerous in such a state, since one tends to find the lit fuse a little too fascinating... on second thought, stay away from fireworks. :) xmas lights are neat, too. rootbeer floats are a good drink for a tripper, since the foam created tickles all the way down --much gentler than soda--, and the sensation of cold is thrilling. i like putting my bare feet in lush carpeting, as it feels like they are being burried. to sum it all up, color and texture and *very* stimulating.

I like tripping alone but I think I like tripping in a group more, it really depends on my mood though, sometimes on shrooms the only thing I wanna do is talk but other times I just like thinking and staring off into space so it really depends what I fee like at the the time

To start off. I just took shrooms and I am peaked. I'm solo and usually I prefer solo trips. I miss talking to people but usually people don't have anything important to say anyway. I'm gonna find ways to keep myself busy and have a good time. Man I am so mashed right now.

Eek! Parental authority units are to be avoided tripping. So are sober people. They always give me that creepy feeling like they are examining me too closley. Small groups of like minded people are okay, so long as they are handling things well. Tripping alone didn't do much for me. I always got into much more when a group of my friends would dose and go banzai on the fourwheelers in the cow fields at night. One of the perks of living in the country. ;)
I would add that trpping alone could be really powerful if the dose was high enough. I've had some really weird mental shit happen while working with magickal energy in a group. I would imagine that alone you could open up all kinds of doors tripping and doing the same.

I belive tripping alone is the only way to go at extreme doses. I have tripped in groups before, but only at low doses (Less then 4g). I could never imagine doing 15g+ trips in a group, well not that you can talk or communicate anyways..

I get pretty antisocial when under the influence of any drug, and with the exception of hotboxing it with 5 of my buds, I like to do all drugs alone. Not only do I get antisocial, but all motor functions used in socializing pretty much get paralyzed during a trip. Key point - Look at my title. Thats the question I asked when we talked about baseball. Id only trip with someone if it was a chick I really really liked.

I have never tripped alone. Maybe want to do it in the future, but I am not sure if Ill survive. Ive done some crazy shit while tripping, and if I wasnt with other, I dont know how I would have ended up. I also have had total memory loss one time, and I dont know how healthy that is when alone. It wouldnt suprise me if I got schizo.

We always seem to be heading off in different directions, and any interaction invariably leads to this massive pit of telepathic confusion.
mind you if it's just ONE other person it can be incredible, you can build some pretty amazing things. But as they say, three's a crowd.

i have a really hard time communicating when i'm shrooming, so sometimes it's pointless to have other people around. however, the only time i've ever tripped alone i didn't have the best experience in the world. i went and saw A.I. and got pretty depressed (not to mention i almost jumped up and ran out screaming when the female robot's head split open). i tried to chat with some people with IM/ICQ but i couldn't type anything that made sense.
so, i think it can be a better experience if you've got other friends around as long as they're all tripping and you are all comfortable enough with each other that you can sit together without talking.

Especially at night, it is easier to trip and meditate on what is being tripped on! My first time was like this....first hour or so was watching winamp plug-ins (a beautiful array of wave patterns and color) this is really fun especially with a friend! But then I was by myself. and in the dark lying on my bed, I would picture a guy and a girl hugging (and rolling on e) it was amasing, it was like I imagined the world to be made up of a man and women and thats all there was. but just a copy of both people and those two people getting to meet in a infite number of ways. Back to my point: its EASIER to trip by yourself. You dont have to TALK! You dont have to explain what your seeing....(I had soooo much trouble when I shroomed my second time with a friend .... by the 3rd hour, we were confused at explaining shit we were talking about).....so to make a long explaination short, there are many reasons mostly dealing with simplicity and understanding of one self (the ego) and this is important. You dont need to be around others, its relaxing and keeps away all surprises and paranoia....good luck on your trips my friends.

I only enjoy tripping with a few close friends. We're trippers through and through and doin it for the right reasons. I can't stand my friends who just want to get fucked up and annoy the shit out of me. My friend and i are like the biggest dosers at our school. We can handle and enjoy large doses and interact awesome when we're dosed. We do crazy shit together and have tons of fun. But with anyone else its just weird. And the thing i hate the most is when youre trippin real hard and youre with all sober people and they're constantly askin me "are you trippin?" "are you fucked up man?" that fucking pisses me off. I cant stand when noone else is trippin but me. I love that feeling when youre with some friends by yourselves in the woods at night and youre all "there". that fuckin feeling when you look over at your pals wandering eyes and youre like i know exactly what hes feeling.

I think if you trip alone you should first "think" you can deal with it alone, then I think watching or listeining to things that that have no suprises or unusaul endinds is nice also...Classical music, a movie you are used to or a yard or environment you have traveled many times before you can always trip and travel into knowing hey I've been here or I know I know the ending to this story, you will be ok. If your hardcore, eat them all, eat them fearless and curl up in your favorite spot and let open and closed eye visuals tear reality apart.........

Yes, I almost always trip alone. Most of my friends aren't around or are off at college already (my college starts late) so there's really nobody around. Tripping alone isn't so bad, you just have make SURE you have a good set&setting.
Find someplace comfortable and stay here. Changing locations too much sort of "blurs" things, so to speak, and you forget where you are, or you feel like you're in two places at once (which REALLY messes with you--not fun).
Of course, there's nothing like tripping with a group of friends. When tripping alone, all the things that are funny seem a little less so, since there's nobody around to share each other's joy. The trip is more spiritual, which can be a great thing if that's what you're looking for.
Do what you feel most comfortable with, but don't decide too hastily. I've been having a lot of problems with the "setting" part lately, so I haven't tripped in a while... can't find any good place to do it! I'll just have to be patient.

I definitely prefer to trip solo. Last weekend my wife asked if I would take a voyage with her and I couldn't concentrate on anything because she was cackling like a jackal for 3 hours straight hours. Alone or go home

only ever tripped with others. once tripped after 4 ecstasy pills... what an experience!!! massively loved up and then getting trippy is cool as fuck!!!
Going to try it solo soon tho as i have some cubes growing nicely! not tripped in over 15 years so looking forward to it!!!
