i have a really hard time communicating when i'm shrooming, so sometimes it's pointless to have other people around. however, the only time i've ever tripped alone i didn't have the best experience in the world. i went and saw A.I. and got pretty depressed (not to mention i almost jumped up and ran out screaming when the female robot's head split open). i tried to chat with some people with IM/ICQ but i couldn't type anything that made sense.
so, i think it can be a better experience if you've got other friends around as long as they're all tripping and you are all comfortable enough with each other that you can sit together without talking.

SOLO!
Especially at night, it is easier to trip and meditate on what is being tripped on! My first time was like this....first hour or so was watching winamp plug-ins (a beautiful array of wave patterns and color) this is really fun especially with a friend! But then I was by myself. and in the dark lying on my bed, I would picture a guy and a girl hugging (and rolling on e) it was amasing, it was like I imagined the world to be made up of a man and women and thats all there was. but just a copy of both people and those two people getting to meet in a infite number of ways. Back to my point: its EASIER to trip by yourself. You dont have to TALK! You dont have to explain what your seeing....(I had soooo much trouble when I shroomed my second time with a friend .... by the 3rd hour, we were confused at explaining shit we were talking about).....so to make a long explaination short, there are many reasons mostly dealing with simplicity and understanding of one self (the ego) and this is important. You dont need to be around others, its relaxing and keeps away all surprises and paranoia....good luck on your trips my friends.

I only enjoy tripping with a few close friends. We're trippers through and through and doin it for the right reasons. I can't stand my friends who just want to get fucked up and annoy the shit out of me. My friend and i are like the biggest dosers at our school. We can handle and enjoy large doses and interact awesome when we're dosed. We do crazy shit together and have tons of fun. But with anyone else its just weird. And the thing i hate the most is when youre trippin real hard and youre with all sober people and they're constantly askin me "are you trippin?" "are you fucked up man?" that fucking pisses me off. I cant stand when noone else is trippin but me. I love that feeling when youre with some friends by yourselves in the woods at night and youre all "there". that fuckin feeling when you look over at your pals wandering eyes and youre like i know exactly what hes feeling.

I think if you trip alone you should first "think" you can deal with it alone, then I think watching or listeining to things that that have no suprises or unusaul endinds is nice also...Classical music, a movie you are used to or a yard or environment you have traveled many times before you can always trip and travel into knowing hey I've been here or I know I know the ending to this story, you will be ok. If your hardcore, eat them all, eat them fearless and curl up in your favorite spot and let open and closed eye visuals tear reality apart.........

hi, im very new to psychedelics and id like to know if id be safe to trip alone on shrooms, this will be my first time so i just want to know what precautions to take etc

tripping alone at night is amazing. tips on what to do: something artistic like drawing can be amazing, also listen to lots of music

Yes, I almost always trip alone. Most of my friends aren't around or are off at college already (my college starts late) so there's really nobody around. Tripping alone isn't so bad, you just have make SURE you have a good set&setting.
Find someplace comfortable and stay here. Changing locations too much sort of "blurs" things, so to speak, and you forget where you are, or you feel like you're in two places at once (which REALLY messes with you--not fun).
Of course, there's nothing like tripping with a group of friends. When tripping alone, all the things that are funny seem a little less so, since there's nobody around to share each other's joy. The trip is more spiritual, which can be a great thing if that's what you're looking for.
Do what you feel most comfortable with, but don't decide too hastily. I've been having a lot of problems with the "setting" part lately, so I haven't tripped in a while... can't find any good place to do it! I'll just have to be patient.

Mushrooms are fine alone,
LSD, get some friends or at least be at a show surrounded by hundreds of others tripping out.

if you are gonna do it with a group...make sure the whole group is trust worthy and not going to try to scare you the whole time....

I definitely prefer to trip solo. Last weekend my wife asked if I would take a voyage with her and I couldn't concentrate on anything because she was cackling like a jackal for 3 hours straight hours. Alone or go home

only ever tripped with others. once tripped after 4 ecstasy pills... what an experience!!! massively loved up and then getting trippy is cool as fuck!!!
Going to try it solo soon tho as i have some cubes growing nicely! not tripped in over 15 years so looking forward to it!!!
