H202 for Cobweb...Spraying a no no???
    #4412681 - 07/16/05 09:18 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

i was speaking with someone who is against spraying h2o2 or anything for that matter for cobweb mold....

a sousrce told me this:

"If you disturb it when it has sporulated, you will definitely make it worse.

Fighting it with a spray bottle is the last thing you want to do. Gently pouring table salt on the spots and direct surrounding areas with mold. If you spray across the substrate, not only do you risk taking ambient mold spores and carrying them directly to the substrate, you will also spread the mold spores of the cobweb by spraying."

any thoughts on this?

The thing with salt and or baking soda is it also kills the surrounding mycelium. I've tried a 50/50 mix on green and had some success containing it for awhile. But not beating it. If the Cob Web keeps showing up, time to let it pass on to the great compost heap in the sky, or backyard, lol. Don't let it spread everywhere.

Good Luck.

In fact, H202 is a great tool to use for knocking out cobweb cold. As Hippie Chick stated, salt is a no no. Simply spray with 3% H202 and it will disappear right off the bat, and will kill the spores as well.
