No this has nothing to do with psychadelic mushrooms, its only a metaphore..

What is this post about?

Well, I can see that a number of people are rejecting people like Jesus because they claimed something that they believe to be untrue.
Like Jesus claiming to be son of god, to be a prophet, talking about the future etc.

Now why is it that when someone says something like that (let's say it IS insane) that everything else he said loses value?

If Jesus spoke about love, and then said that he comes from kingdom of heaven, dos the second part reduce the value of the words about love and peace?

What difference does it make if Jesus was a shizo?
Or even more, what difference does it make if Jesus never existed in the first place?

What is a difference between a book character that is based on a live person that is now ashes and a character that is invented?
Both characters speak words, and send messages to readers, the dead guy exists no more than a guy that is imaginary, both do not exist in real life. Both can only send messages, and nothing more.
The dead guy really has no advantages over an imaginary guy.

Or lets say he did exist and was a sick man that was delusional.
Why do you concentrate on words that are result of his illness, and forget words that carry true meaning?

If I say: People, please do not fight, I'm comming from mars and they toled me to say this to you

or I say: People, please do not fight. It is not nice to fight.

so the first one includes a result of my hallucinations, the second one is "sane"

are they different? The message is the same. Am I more worthy of being followed around if I said the second message instead of first one?

This is what I have learned.  That if EVERYTHING someone says or writes had to resonate fully to me before I can accept ANYTHING they say, then I accept NOTHING from anyone.

I feel the same way about the Castanada books. I care not a wit if he made it all up for money, fame, spite, or to convey a message. I have used many of the principles in the books and they have helped me lead a more joyful and effective life. The stuff that doesn't ring true intuitively or by test, I drop it. It's absolutely that easy.

For those who can't do this. I believe they have some personal problem around the idea the person or writing represents. :mushroom2:

Even if Jesus was totally fictional and God is no more than a bubble of alien fart gas. Yes there is much to be learned from the " Words " of Jesus.

The fact is that Mankind is a creature of lust greed and love. We are constantly making choices. That is what we do. Make choices. That is the real nitty gritty of life isn't it ?

I mean what is wrong with what Jesus taught ? Nothing

What is wrong with giving........Nothing

What is wrong with Loving people you do not know ?.......... Nothing

What is wrong with telling people what you think and cramming it down there throat ? A lot

Let him who hear..........hear

and those that don't don't

It saddens me how far people will go to to bash the bible and Jesus and never taken the time to learn enough to make a wise decision.

Yes many here are very educated in such things and have made the decision to think Jesus was a Ego filled Fool developed for the power of Rome, etc.

That is the decision they made but at least they are justified through study.

Me......... Jesus is allright

I think that the teachings of Jesus were good.

What I don't like is the Christian attitude that "Jesus is GOD"

I can't bring myself to worship a M-A-N.
Those "Christians" that see Jesus as "God" are irritating....

HIGHLY irritating

If you look at the Jewish and Muslim religions they don't see Jesus as GOD....just a prophet of God

I have come to believe that the real "anti-Christ" is the Christian that says....
"Jesus is GOD! If you dont accept Jesus as your personal savior your going to HELL"

I can think of no other religion that worships a man.
These people have some kind of defect.

Jesus said he was "son of god", but then again every human is called son of god.

He also said to some people something like:

if you don't believe in me, then look at the work I do, and if look at all my work and still don't believe in me, then at least believe in my work.

that makes sense

Aren't we all Gods children?
Go to a Christian church and claim to be Gods son....see what kind of reaction you get.

Yes it does make sense. Almost everything that Jesus said made sense.

That still doesn't mean that he is GOD

Well what does reaction of a bunch of old farts that sit in a gothic building because of their fear of death, have to do with the actual concept of Jesus or his words?
