computer recording trouble

hmmm
i have things plugged into the mic jack of my computer
they are making sounds of the speakers
but neither sound recorder nor adobe audition are recognizing and recording them (they have in the past)
i have closed all other applications,
restarted the comp...
any ideas?

ive had that problem before. i had to reinstall the programs and the drivers for my sound card before it worked. =(

On the start bar, all the way to the right, there is a little speaker icon that lets you get into the play control.  Go there.  Select Options>Propertys>Recording from the file listing.  Select 'What You Hear'.  This should give you control over what you are recording.  Now, go into the Play Control and mute you're CD/DVD player as it carries a noise floor.

Try this, and if it doesn't work, come back.  :smile:
