Found in a lawn in Connecticut this morning. Its obviously amanita and I dont think that its psychoactive. I am just curiouse as to what it is exactly. Im kinda excited. We have all sorts of new mushrooms popping up in lawns. Bright purple, red, all sortsa cool ones. I couldnt take em all home with me but I saw this and I knew it was an amanita so I figured it would be a learning experience. If its any good lemme know because I can go get like 20 more

Are the colors exactly right in the pics? It looks a little off so it might be harder to ID. I'm no expert so don't listen to me because Amanita has some of the most deadly mushrooms but I think you might be lucky and that is active.... WAIT FOR ANOTHER REPLY I'M JUST GUESSING.
In the end you'll probably eat a couple and throw/give the rest away. I tried so many different ways of preparing amanita and all led to intense nausea->vomiting->sleep.

that is Amanita Flavoconia, not Amanita Muscaria var. Formosa as they are often mistaken for (the latter has white patches, not yellow) my field guide says the edibility has not been established, so i cant help you there. i do not believe it is active though.

What's the bump for? Did you not like the answer? Amanitas are hard to mess with, and in most ppls opinions, mine included do not deliver desirable effects. Also, this family contains some of the most poisonous mushrooms, some being deadly.

His could be mistaken for the one you show. WYSEFOOL has an acurate amanita account. Not worth messing with.

Even if it were amanita muscaria, would it not need to be prepared, excactly right, before consumption? I have read that, even the Amanita Muscaria should be prepared, with very precise instuctions, in order to avoid poisoning. The "active" chemical is actually very dangerous, and yes, I have also heard of the undesirable effects, as well. Just a pretty mushroom, to me. See them alot, at the golf courses.
