looks grim-- can I perform surgery? Pics added---------------------
    #4407755 - 07/15/05 02:58 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

got a little cake going and
Ive just spotted two things-
on two seperate mushrooms there is a dark spot near the base of the stem- on one of them it is dark- close to black, on the other it is more brown and almost slimy looking

these should be ready to harvest in a day or 2

can I remove these and keep the cake going
any suggestions?

many thanks

after looking around I see that it may be or at least resembles a bacterial blotch---

any way to remedy this?

hmm i would remove them from the cake, yes.

it is probably just rot due to over-moisture perhaps...i'd remove them in any case so nothing spreads, rot or otherwise.

yeah i think this is due to being over moist

and if youve been following the story so far--- this cake/jar/session has been taking a very long time..

It would really help to have some type of camera when these kinda problems arise.

Good Luck.
