Popcorn and verm/coir casing........any good?
    #4407752 - 07/15/05 02:56 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I posted a little while ago about how well my popcorn and verm/coir was doing.......loads of pinns in a very short time. However, received a few comments doubting this tecnique. Anyone else had experience with method, and how were the shrooms......eg plentyful/few....large/small.....potent/weak.....number of flushes etc....

I will keep everyone posted with my results, but too early to give an acurate review.

I am interested in others experiences though.

Cheers guys.

Starting to worry now, given others doubting comments. I must have over 100 pinns in each 8"x4" container x 3 containers. However, not sure if these babies are going to be a little on the thin side, or whether they will fatten up some....it is so hard to tell at this stage!

The strain is Ecquador, Anyone else using my technique?

Popcorn/Verm/Coir.........ecquador strain.......anyone......anyone...?

Popcorn can get fine results...dont worry yet. The reason its talked down upon is the rate of success...so far you seem to be one of the few who can get popcorn to work well for them...dont worry and make sure theres plenty of fresh air and water for them.

I have tried rye berries in the past, and made a mess of it. However, I have recently altered my terrarium, and mastered casing a little better. I always used to over water and kill everything.

BRF cakes always seem to dry out, but this time with popcorn, it has all gone so easily and so fast. I will keep everyone posted with the results.

Looks like these shrooms are going to be skinny ass shrooms. Lokked this am, am=nd allthough there are loads of them, they really are skinny things.

Why have they turned out so skinny, I don't understand.

Anyway, I am going to get sraight back to growing this afternoon, and pc me some rye berries. Looks like another 3 weeks work ahead.

This game really does require patience!!

Its a shame we could'nt organise some mycology classes for people in their local areas, that would speed up peoples skills!!

Anyway will keep you posted of the final weight of the popcorn shrooms. Looks like its going to be low though. DAMM!

Popcorn's hard to fruit well and fruits poorly from what i've read...I've tried it several times and it always gets yellow goo on the bottom...and it's not myc. piss...lol..I never got it to fruit but I did spawn it to straw outside...Hasn't fruited yet but i'm patiece

They're skinny probably because a lack of nutes....

Finished up with some real nice fruit bodies, allthough rather skinny. However, they looked healthy enough and there were plenty of them. (probably well over 100 mushrooms)

Just weighed the first flush at 120 grams wet. This was from 3 containers measuring aprox 8"x4"

Are Ecquador strain naturally skinny?

Finished up with aprox 300g fresh/wet from 4 8"x4" containers. Although the fruits were a little on the small side, they were plentiful and beautifully formed.

Got to test them yesterday............WOW! Really potent shrooms. I only wanted a light trip, so only consumed aprox 20g fresh. However, this gave me a heavy trip.

I am going to continue with popcorn for the time being, and maybe case to poo next time.

i use popcorn and i love it.. i dont see why ppl always talk it down either man.. and i havent had anyone complain about the potency of the mushrooms grown on corn either.. heres some pics of my last popcorn grow..:

was like 520 gms wet and dried out to just under 2 oz. i cased using the 50/50+ tec.

the only problem i have ever had was after PC a batch of my jars they had water in the bottom of them, but that was it.. dont know if i filled my PC up to much and some water worked in under the foil or what happend, but i think that was just a noob mistake not the corn..

Glad to hear someone praise popcorn.....seems like a lot of negativity about it. I am finding rye difficult, but popcorn easy.

Horses for corses I suppose.
