"The War on Drugs" will end...
    #4407369 - 07/15/05 09:59 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

When we no longer allow the criminal governments of the world to be the largest profiteers from the sale of illegal substances.

I'm of the opinion that such plants and their drug components are illegal simply because that is the best way for the truly criminal factions behind government to protect their profits from selling these drugs. When the biggest drug profiteers are actually the ones directing law enforcement, prohibition ensures that all viable competition will be eliminated.

That is why the "War on Drugs" is going stronger than ever, and cocaine and heroin still flood this country at astonishing rates.

Besides their addictive qualities, the government loves cocaine and heroin because they require lots of processing, labor, and huge tracts of land, as opposed to pot or shrooms. It's much easier to control the market because joe schmoe down the block doesn't have the resources it takes to be a profitable farmer.

Ever read Dark Alliance by Gary Webb? (Linked is the original series of newspaper articles from which the book was formed)

In the book, Webb shows that various agents within the government from different agencies like the CIA, DEA, and White house advisors made a demonstrable effort to ensure that certain drug traffickers had a safe pass to sell hundreds of tons of cocaine and other drugs in the U.S. The book only focuses on the Reagan/Bush era, but I think this has been going on for far longer.

The book also shows that any investigation into government involvement in large scale drug trafficking is stonewalled at the federal level by people connected to the Bush crime syndicate.

The thing is, criminals of Bush's caliber don't need illegal drug money. They make enough in the "Business" sector to be able to use the pure profit of drug sales to finance their wars on non capitalist societies around the world.

(could go on all day so i'd better stop now...)

To bad this doesn't mean the governments of the world will stop making money off the war on drugs anytime soon.

drug money is laundered through the stock market...
Example:
a company lets say....

Matt enterprises has a P/E ratio of 15/1 that means the Price per share divided by the profit per share.  Meaning $15 is spent to make $1.

Laundered money has no way to show up except as PROFIT

meaning investors will spend $15 making that $1 laundered dollar have a paper trail - accomplishing two things; stock prices rise and here's your laundered money back

With that said... if bush is the one selling these drugs then your last statement would be false.  That would make him need drug money WAY MORE than you think!

The war on drugs will end as information continues to spread online, but this could take decades. Muslim nations will continue to enforce a brutal form of prohibition until Islam and government are separated.
