Fingers are strange
    #4407082 - 07/15/05 08:26 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Take a look at your fingers, sometime, and notice the difference in lengths:

See how my ring-finger is longer than my index-finger? That's because I'm a male. In females the index-finger should always be longer.

As it turns out, this has a direct cause: the length of your ring-finger is directly proportional to the level of testosterone you were exposed to as a fetus. Likewise, the length of your index-finger is directly proportional to the level of estrogen you were exposed to. (yes, we were ALL exposed to BOTH hormones....just more testosterone than estrogen for males and the other way around for females).

Notice that some people have one finger of the two that is significantly longer than the other, while some people have index/ring fingers that are almost the same length.

(this random useless bit of knowledge has been brought to you by the letter M, and the number 42).

if i hold my hands together, the fact that the top 'segment' of my index fingers are both really crooked becomes quite apparent. esp. on the right hand - that bitch curves towards the rest of my hand at quite a sharp angle!

Feet maybe?

On my left hand my index finger is longer, and on the right my ring finger! Does that make me a freak? :tongue2:

Never noticed that before actually.....

I can't snap my fingers, and I always wondered why...I knew it had nothing to do with learning how.

Then one day I was in an elevator with a couple of people and overheard a guy explaining to his friend why he couldn't snap. He showed his friend that if he pushed back the tips of his fingers, he could make the first joint segment of his fingers perpendicular to the rest of his fingers, and that there wasn't enough tension in them to rightfully snap...

Weird, cause same goes for me.

I love a good old fashioned Doors lyrical quote, with a bit of on-topic twists provided. Beautiful.
