Fungus Blobs

Why would a cake form fungus blobs invitro rather than pins? How potent are they, and will the same cake produce pins after birth? BTW, PF race.

When you say "BLOBS" do you mean hyphal knots? Hyphal knots a very tiny, the size of 1-2 mm, and their white....at least the one's i've seen. Look like cottonballs. On a cake they can spread, and look alittle funky, but keeping the same color as the mycl. If this is what you have then it's ok.....pinning wont be far behind :) The pontency I would think would be just the same as the mycl. I could be wrong though!
