Z-strain potency
    #4403756 - 07/14/05 03:15 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

A friend of mine was curious about the potency of Z-strain's compared to that of other strains, in paritcular GT's. are the z's worth the time for the potency they produce.

dood, didnt you know that z strain was like the most uberpotent superstrain available? I thought that was common knowledge.....

but seriously, i think 80% of the people here will say "a cube is a cube". It depends on your substrate and what you add into it for potency. I wouldnt expect much difference btwn the two. Why dont you just grow it and find out?

Potency is not dependent on what you call name you call it. Its still a cubensis and potency will still vary depending on genetics, substrate, conditions, flush and mushroom. I have tried two sources of the Z strain so far, both were good, and it is my favorite strain that I have. For me, GT's didnt fruit so great so I didnt grow them much. Potency was average usually. Potency is always pretty much average though..

Exactly.

And BTW, you wont find a strain that isnt "worth the time for the potency the produce"..

exactly! a cubes potency depends on its cultivation, not its strain.
its strain might dictate mycelia growth and such. but i think any cube spawned to hpoo is going to produce good results.

They are a particulaly quick strain, but again there are many factors that come into play before genetics, and even then, its only a name...just because a person is of a certain race you dont know how they're gonna grow, while there may be some similarities within the race.

Personally havent tried Z-strain or GT, but I was just reading that Z-strain is either an isolation of GT or a hybrid with GT. So its genetics and therefore potency is probably really similar.
