it was either that or get tickets for being on public property after 10, and tresspassing
me and my friend kimmy were bored out of our skulls and we decided to go chill on the village soccer fields, we parked at the train station and walked over. un-known to us people had been breaking into cars at the train station and also robbing the vending machines in the park... so we were sitting there, and saw the cops come around 5 or 6 times, we were ducking laying flat on the field so they wouldnt notice us... after they left (or so we thought) we headed back to the cars and started driving away... well they were hidden waiting for us. they blocked us in, and started bitching at us. they asked if they could search my car (since they had searched hers while we were in the pack because it was un-locked) and i said no. it came to the point where they said they would be giving me 2 tickets for trespassing, which i was guilty of.... if i didnt concent.even after telling him how much i did for the town (im an eagle scout and have done soooo much comunity service in that park alone) so i told them they could search the cab only
i had 4 new glass pipes, brand new in the trunk, that they decided to check on their own, they confronted me and asked how i got them, i told them that i traded some cd's for them, and that they were for tobacco. so they let me hold on to them and did not charge me or her witih anything and let us go.
there were also shroomery business cards in the back seat. but they didnt say anything about them, im sure they noticed though.....

i knoew i was clean and legal, i have nevre once been arrested, ever. and i out alot of work into keeping it that way. i rarely even travel with anything illegal, and when i do its well taken care of.
plus i only concented to a search of the cab, which did not include the trunk so if they decided to press some charges on me bcause of the glass pipes, i could have contested in the local municipal court that i did not concent to a search of my trunk.

I may be incorrect, but I think you can only consent to some or all of a search of your vehicle.

Yeah, I agree. I never heard of this partial search deal.

Actually, I think I remember learning in my law class that you can in fact consent to only a partial search of a moving vehicle. For example, if the officer asks for consent to search, you could technically say, "I consent to a search only around objects beginning with an 'S', like a Steering wheel." Although that would probably really piss the cop off and they would end up searching your whole vehicle, though illegally.
The law is fuzzy around this subject, and frankly, I doubt anyone would want to test it.
