My work has an account with Cole-Parmer so I placed an order today. I hope a couple of them don't end up at my home... Anyone used these before?

they're ok, you really need to inflate them with sterile air for a really effective work area but can be done without

I thought about sterilizing after inflating? I guess not, I would need to get the lysol spray in the bag too. How about swabbing everything inside with a bleachy rag after inflating?

For some people, price isn't so important. Besides, I'm sure they are plenty of people that have spent more than $50 on a glove box. Albeit, theirs are probably much more functional.

PITA.
before you think about using them it you should try that very same thing with a trash bag, bags are usualy sterile any way until you open them, then you draw in dirty air. since you are borrowing a couple from the job, try it, if you think about buying a case, consider a flow hood.

You don't need sterile air, you just need "still-air". The same can be done for pennies with clear trash bags and some duct tape, along with a bit of alcohol/Lysol.

what...
Trash bag (of 20)..
$5.99 (clear kind)
Dishwasher gloves
$1.99 (yellow kind)
Duck Tape
$4.99(for a med. roll)
For about 13-14 dollars you could basically do the same thing...

Good luck man
Oh...And are they able to be stuck in the microwave? Might be an "easier" way to sterilyze it...

Unless you use purified/sterile air to inflate such a bag or enclosed area.....what's the point? All you really need is a nice clean surface, latex gloves, and sterile tools. If the air inside the bag is the same as the air outside the bag, you get the same results. Just stick a few window fans blowing out, with one window open without a fan. That should take care of dirty air that might be lying around the house.
An air purifier (like Ionic Breeze) definitely helps though.

lysol in the room before you work like 15 mins or so, and plenty of it, circulate out the old air first. that doest he trick. glove boxes are kinda extreme for inculation if you work with all sterile tools and especially 255 glorified garbage bags

Price may not be important, but damn, isnt ignorance and intelligence? Its a trash bag with gloves, people use it ALL the time. For 250 bucks you couldve bought the best kick ass flow hood, and made 20 of them things if its for portability or something...and without any extra work. I mean, pull out garbage bag, open garbage bag...

almost...
it would cost a little more than $250.00 for the best.
but I agree with what you are saying.
I can make a home made kick ass flow hood for almost $250.00
