Anyone find Cubes in the Raleigh, NC area?

Hi all, I'm very new to the world of mycology, but for the last 2 months of this rather boring summer I've been midly experimenting around with different ethnobotanical experiences. I came across your site today while searching on google in hopes of finding some possible locations to locate psychadelic mushrooms around my neck of the woods.
I live in Cary, NC. (About 10 miles from the centrally located capitol, Raleigh. I actually just moved from Charlotte for the summer (I go to UNC-Charlotte for Computer Science). I did grow up in Cary until I was 12 and know my way around the city just fine.
Anyway, to get to the point, I was wondering if anyone has any insight on where (non-specific locations of course ) I might find what I'm seeking.
I've read a little on what I might find around here and came across Psilocybe cubensis & Psilocybe caerulipes. I've yet to do much research on their "magic effects" but I will continue my research this afternoon.
It now is 4:30pm on Wednesday the 13th and I am starting to hear thunder. We are supposed to have scattered T-Storms all week, so from what I've read, it might be a fairly prime time to find these 2 types. (I've read somewhere on the forums that June/July is a good time for seeking these out.)
If anyone could shed some light on where I might look... eg. Woods, grassy areas, sunny areas, shaded areas. Or possibly some other places like Bond Park, or any other locations around town I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your time in helping me
-Bryan

First... "Locations that are allowed: Park names, highways names (long stretches of highways), town names."
This can be found in the forum rules, so no that's not too specific.
Second... What's an OTD?
Third... Thanks, I changed my topic and it makes a little more sense now (I'm not sure if this is what you were referring to though.)

as far as mushrooms in the piedmont (i live in chapel hill) there are more than simply those two (that list in quite innacurate). i wouldnt bet on finding psilocybe caerulipes as they are quite rare. if i were you i would research Panaeolus Subbalteatus (being that they are the most abundant psychoactive mushroom) and learn how to correctly identify them, as this is a big beginner problem. cubes are not common around here but they can also be found. information on where to find these mushrooms and how to identify them can be found on this site quite easily. a link to get you started is here http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23488 good luck!

Welcome to the shroomery DMBFan86. The National Audobon Field Guide has Pan. sub. listed as so common, it is almost considered a weed! They are common, but identifying them takes practice. Best place to start is searching this forum for info on them (there is plenty) You will learn where to look and how to identify. There's lot's of cool stuff to find, if you look.
Good thing he can't see OTD yet, that Andy Griffith comment was nothing (<---understatement)
Good luck
