I got this from a friend quite a while ago. He said it was sold to him as Trichocereus pachanoi. Can someone make a positive ID?

Yay! Give it a few years and every trip I take can be homegrown Mescaline

It's damn near impossible to kill, but if you take good care of it it'll thank you

My one experience with mesc impressed me as much as the first time i took mushrooms or lsd.

According to Ott most people will not be able to tell the difference between LSD and Mescaline, and is very closely related to the mushroom experience. Also that very few people he estimated around 10,000 people have actually triped off of mescaline and usually what they sell on the street is not mescaline.

I think that its relatively easy to tell the difference between cactus and acid...I find that while acid is a relatively chaotic 'information overload' with very very complex visuals, and can sometimes become confusing, cactus for me is a much more stable trip, I never feel overwhelmed on it (well, not by the effects themselves, though sometimes I do from the insights gained), the visuals are very stable for me and seem more focused on colour and nice forms rather than super intricate fractals. Although I have seen fractals on cactus usually its more along the lines of amazing colourful landscapes and beautiful, really beautiful forms and colours.

Anyway thats just my little rant. Although I would agree that acid and cactus do bear some resemblance.

Anyway wiccan good luck with growing your cactus. It was hard to tell from the pic the exact species, but it is definitley an active trich. If I'm not mistaken I think I can see a few longish spikes in there, which means that it might not be T. pachanoi, but perhaps T. macrogonus or a short spined T. peruvianus. If you can get a better pic or a description of the spine sets someone could probably give you a better ID.

I found acid more overwhelming, magic, mystical. A much more full on trip that will litteraly grab my mind and take me wherever it wants. I am merely a spectator with almost no control.

With mescaline i felt i was the one in control. Felt more grounded, and the mental trip would come in waves that seemed to transcend time. It's like i was somewhat sober, but than i'd have huge thought trains in a moment's time; as if time would stop during my thought trains. Synaestesia was amazing, even with open eyes. Lasted quite longer than LSD.

I found LSD more insightful, but than again, as i said before, i only tried the mesc once.

Shrooms are very different from it in all aspects.

Don?t forget that:

The experience from an active cacti (peyote, pachanoi , peruvianus and others) can have great difference from the ?chemical? mescaline experience because there are a lot of active alkaloids present. Even experiences from different cactuses differ a lot!

can you change that poll so you can see the results without voting? i dont have any experience with mescaline(growing or consuming) and would like to see the results, but dont want to throw them off by voting.
