Hi, I woke up this morning and wqhen i went to let my dogs out near the tree stump in the middle of the yard a BUNCH of shrooms were growing... Let me tell you a little bit bout what goes on in the backyard, between myself and a couple of other neighboors there is about 10 to 12 dogs that poop in the backyard.... Yeah we try to keep it clean but sometimes ya cant... Anyways, on with the shrooms... the couple i pcked to get spore printds from I took pics... The caps of the shrooms are all 'ridged' and almost shaped like a bell(and thin).... underside is all black, stems hollow and thin...

Anyone care to take a guess on what i got in my own yard?

well, im definatly not a mushroom identification expert. i ussually buy my shrooms or pick them from cow shit on a field. but they look good. if it bleeds blackish or dark blue they should be straight for trippin'.

1. i see no purple veil or blue bruising. 2. psilicybin mushrooms do not grow on dog crap.
so im 99% sure those are not active, i have no clue as to what species though.

i was under the impression that it wasnt the grain that caused them to grow, but the fact that cows doesnt have stomach acid and rely just on peristolsis for digestion..albeit they eat grain. is this correct?

you said they looked so much like cubes...but they don't and they share no traits at all, except that they both have a stem and cap. That little brown spot is noticable in a lot of mushrooms. Notice how frail they are? Snake eats those in the new metal gear game.

Its a mixture of both factors. The dog's stomach acid will destroy most of the good stuff that isn't digested, and the rest in un-substantial for Psilocybe growth. Dung loving Psilocybes need the right mixture of nutrients to grow, like those found in bovine poo.
Inky cap appearance + black spore print = Coprinus sp.
