I was wondering about my cakes, i put them into my fruiting chamber about 5 or 6 days ago and have had plenty of new Myc. growth, but i dont know if they are going to keep up like this or actually start pins, the temp is about 75 degrees and the humidity is 100% steady. Also the Myc. is comming to peaks on the cakes, i can post pic's if needed.

It always helps to post pic's. Everything sounds O.K. Just be patient. It can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to see pins.

i think those are called hyphae? They are the start of pins, keep an eye on them cuz you'll see the tips of them turning brown, and then turn into full fruits GL man looks good!

I thought rolling them in verm. was something you used when you wanted to increase humidity, i live in Kentucky and its about 75% humidity in my fuckin apartment, so i think even my perlite may be to much.

i am new at this as well and i just started mine a little while ago. your cakes look very similar to mine before they pinned and grew. it doesn't take long for them to grow either, make sure u watch the temperature, mine wasnt as steady as it could have been and it shows. what strand are those?

There really is no such thing as too much humidity for cakes, lol.
Rolling in verm. doesn't really raise humidity. It's more of a mini casing for cakes. The verm will stay damp due to the moisture in the air. Makes it a little easier for your cake to get the moisture instead of just from the air.
