What would you do?

I got this cokehead friend. Lets call him G. I have known this guy since i was in 6th grade. He used to be a friend, and roomate to my brother, untill he burned him on rent money. Bro got paid back, just much later. Anyway G has been a cokehead for bout 3 years now. Recently he has also become addicted to Meth. I used to lecture him. Than i kind of gave up, and functioned as sourt of a co-dependant inabler or whatever. Like everytime we got together we did coke/meth together. So right before i quit meth, i loaned him a $50 bag. Under the condition that he would pay me back The next day. days turned into weeks turned into months. Its been about 2 months now. I haven't seen him, and he won't answer my calls. He's also got alot of shit i let him barrow. A nice pipe, dvds, c.d.s, clothes.
Anyway, I thought he was a really good friend. Its not about the money. In fact i was considering letting him keep it, if he paid me back. Not anymore. I finally got ahold of him on the phone yesterday. Me: Wheres my money? G: I dunno Me: Thats fucked up, i know you get paid every Thursday I thought we were friends. So you just gonna rip me off? G : Mabey Me: Click.
Now this would be a different situation if i hadn't been such good friends with this guy. I wouldn't be asking you guys for advice. But this is sourt of a delicate situation. I don't want to stomp him, i don't want to break into his house (he lives with his family),I don't want to fuck him over to badly. I want to convince him, that it would be in his best interests to pay me my money. I was thinking of leaving notes on his porch, to the effect of "i want my money- Dreamer" , or telling his parents who he lives with on him. If i wanted to i could have is coke/meth supplier cut him off.
What would you suggest?

cut his ass off.
Send one cheek to New York, and the other to LA.
But really, get the problem at the root.

It depends, on one hand it would be easier to walk away. I mean, it's 50 bucks, not 5,000. I guess if you're that hard up for the money do whatever it takes.

$50 bux spent on meth... even if your friend is the user, is $50 down the drain.
Persue it too much, and it will become even more annoying than it already is.
Let it go...

Cervantes is right. Smart people know which targets to pick and when to give up. You don't want Coke/Meth/head behind your back. Friend or no friend. Take this advice and live long and fruitfully.

He lives with his parents?
That's perfect. Tell him if he doesn't pay you back for all the shit you loaned him you'll tell his parents about his addiction.
Telling his parents would be wise anyways, they might be able to have an intervention or some shit.
Also if you can have his connection cut him off that would be a good start as well.

Cutting him off from his dealer wouldn't do anything most likely. Do you only have one dealer?? I would deff threaten to tell his parents.

Just get your cds, dvds, pipe and clothes back from him and don't talk to him again.

Yeah either
a.) Threaten to tell his rents, which you should probably do anyway
or
b.) Do what QuantumMeltdown said, get your shit back face to face, and then cut him off. Delete him off your cell and move on.

He apologized, and gave me my money back without me having to do anything. so, everything worked out. Sucks he's still an addict tho.

Edit* Wow, looking back, i tottally lied in that last post. He did not give me the money back. I hounded him for a few more months untill i got sick of it, and had a talk with his parents. They told his P.o.(i told them not to) He went to jail for a few weeks. A few months later we got over it, he paid the $, and became friends again, altho i distanced myself from him somewhat do to him being a drug addict, and me not wanting to slip down that slope again.
A few days ago, he finnally checked himself into an inpatient re-hab voluntarily. I am glad that he is getting treatment, altho i'm kind of sad he didn't call me. I also worry that when he gets out, his best friend will get him back in, as they have been in it together since the begining. Tried to talk to him about getting treatment today. He dosen't think he has a "bad" problem.
