where will it go?

I'm not just one to look at the past and the present but I look to the future as well. When I consider the future of my own psychedelic experiences I wonder where will it all go?
I meet more and more ex-tripers and people that feel that they're near the end. Do we all eventually get to a point at which we no longer feel the need to trip? Is this chemical, psychological, what? Any one have any insight/knolwedge/ideas as to why this happens?
Any tips as to how to maintain and preserve that happy trippy part of our curious selves? Or perhaps it is just best that we let it end when it is the time?

Ive been thinkin about this too. you get a lot of older people who used to do drugs, back in their day, and i bet they used to think theyd always smoke dope, trip etc. I think something must happen to you when you reach whateva age. i was talkin to this guy in the pub, and i said, i really love tripping and getting stonned, and exploring my mind etc, but i dont think ill even be smokin pot in 20 years. Even though now, i couldnt dream of doing that. he said that if u use drugs as something more than a buzz and a laugh, and u understand their potentials then ull probly always be using them. just dont loose the path maaaan.

I think alot of it has to do with association. When I first smoked I thought it was the best thing ever, and I'd never get bored of it. Well after 3 months of smoking twice and three times a day it got really old- because I didnt associate it with being a treat any more. For the next 9 months I made my self quit, and then it was fun again. Right now tripping seems like the most fun thing anybody in the world could ever do, but I'm sure when I dont think of mushrooms as "candy" anymore I'll probably get bored of them. (note- I don't trip three times a day!)

to preserve the flavor of tripping, only do it once in a while. personally, every new trip is fresh and different from the last, so, like dreams, I never get tired of them. i'm sure at a point they start losing quality, but at the rate I am going (one trip every month or so, if not less) I am sure I will enjoy tripping as long as I can get mushies

I for one have taken a break from trippin for a couple of months now because I thougt I could handle the amount of mushrooms I took, and as it turned out I couldn't funtion. And throughout the summer I was doing them about every 10 days or so. So I believe people take a break or stop from a dramatic experience they had with them, or have done them so many times in the past and have experienced their effects in so many ways they don't feel they need to go back to them.

I tripped for a whole year in college, since then i only do it about once a season. After a while, it is less of a "wow, i understand everything now" kind of experience and becomes a body buzz, or a way to see some cool visuals but the whole mind fuck, seeing the world in a whole new way thing kind of fades. Because, yes, you do get used to the feeling and it becomes predictable. That's why I keep it to a few times a year now. So that I keep respect for the experience and so I can plan out a really fun time.
That all being said, now that I have an ever growing supply of the mushies, I may be going on a psychedelic bender.
i'm 26 by the way.

I use shrooms for the visuals and mind bending now. I feel that I've achieved a state of oneness (Is that a word?) enough that I don't really need drugs to explore my world but they're still fun from time to time. I am still so amazingly high right now. This is a really good trip.
