As may some of you know i come from cyprus
cyprus has a mandatory 2 year army service
i go in tommorow...
FUCK.
i'm going to miss you guys and everything else that happens in life out of the army

shit they don't have a 'civil service' or other social-work opt-out?
being only a temporary resident here, i don't have to do the military service that many of my friends have had to (although there are very many sneaky ways to get yourself out of it!) - but just the thought of it makes me cringe.

Or plead insanity, a "friend of a friend" (true though) didn't want to do his time in the greek army (compulsary year or two) and so on the day he was supposed to go in went naked on the back of a horse shouting "my comrades i have come to shoot the enemy" - all be it he didn't get in but got a little slip of paper stating he was slightly mentally inapt

if they did I would be gone so fast..I would be hitchhiking my way to Canada...I am not going to war in Iraq, to fight thier war...that shit is thier problem..why does the U.S. get involved? ...War just causes more chaos and more problems..it doesn't solve shit..it might help out sometimes temporarily...but it most likely will make other issues worse...thank the US president for that one...btw I havent voted for a long time..
