60/40 casing... how does it look?
    #4391577 - 07/11/05 05:38 AM (18 years, 8 months ago)

This casing has been in the fruitin chamber for bout 48hrs and i was just wonderin how it looks, im a bit worried the myc is growin too quickly, i know this is true for a coir based casin so might have to mix up some peat with it next time but does this still look ok for 2days, ive still got a while yet i dont want it to overcolinise or overlay, anything i can do to it to help it out if it is showin signs of too much growth?

Casing consists of a 1/4 bottom casing layer, 1-1.5" substrate layer (broken up BRF cakes) and a 1/4-5/8" top casin layer.

Casing was incubated for bout 2.5days and patched when bout 5% of myc on surface and then placed in fruitin chamber.

Temps sit around 20-21 celcius, mistin once/day (not directly at casing) and fan 4-6 times per day with a 12/12 light cycle.

Oh yer and i forgot this is of course AFOAFs

Thanx in advance.

thanx for the reassurance but im still bit worried ,
ive just spent ages readin heaps of posts on casings and rhizo and overlay and for my casin to be lookin like that after 2 days seems a bit too aggresive. All the pics of a good casing just b4 pinnin, like after 8 days, that i have seen show the myc just covering the surface very lightly and evenly all over, rather in cottony clumps like it appears in mine?
I have already done an initial patch and initiated pinning triggers, does anyone recommend patching further now that ive started this?

Ive read high humidity can cause this so ive opened the lid of my PMP a fraction to allow a bit more air/moisture to escape. I havent been able to find any good quaility humidity gauges so an using the moisture on walls method
