Moving to basement bathroom a good idea?
    #4391361 - 07/11/05 03:25 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Well, I currently use an upstairs bathroom to do all of my myco work in, and the question is, should I move to the basement bathroom? The advantage is that the basement bath would only be used for myco and I could keep my terri and fruit chamber in their, whereas right now I can't keep everything in the upstairs bathroom, and I still use it to shower/shave/etc. My concern is that I heard of basement's having mold. I am in in Colorado though, and although dusty, our basement is almost 0% rh, and either way I sterilize the entire bathroom with bleach water regularly, and keep my WalMart hepa running. Any input?

Dude, you'll be fine... Especially if your using poo. I dont plan to make it a habit, but I have expose casings to dirty closets without ill effect, I am sure that is just luck, what with my being new to the hobby. The basement would be BETTER. As you know heat rises, and fruiting needs to be in the low 70's I believe so that would help. If you make a Tub in Tub incubator you'll be able to let your jars colonize down there too. If you have enough jars or mycobags in a small closed in area, like a big ole rubbermaid tub... then the substrate colonising might generate enough heat on its own without a heater? Is your basement bathroom bigger? Just use a hepa and spray with Oust and lysol and you'll be straight. I always spray my area with lysol, wait a few minutes, then go back over it with alcohol

ASK ME! about wholesale parcels of raw stones, gems, ect! Deals for the homies here! Also ask me about legal nationwide cbd cancer medicine. My moms friend, a doctor, just moved his whole family to colorado, so his epileptic son could get this tincture, and flies to GA, every week for work, when he could have used this, just in fear of losing his medical license there!

You will do fine.

If you also have room in your basement & means to haul one.

Try to find a dead upright FREEZER.

They can be had from appliance repair places FOR FREE

They make a GREAT incubator / fruiting chamber.
Pipe in a coolmist & you are set.
