Pan Subbs out of season? Conditions not right?
    #4391207 - 07/11/05 01:55 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

Pan Subbs used to be ridiculously abundant here in lawns around here (Southeast Michigan) about three weeks ago. They were everywhere in subdivisions where the sod was relatively new. Now I only have been able to find a few. Does God hate me? Have I pissed off some deity, or are the conditions just not right?

I think it may be a bit too hot right now for Pan Subbs, but then again they do grow in Florida. I did notice that there are more other species of mushrooms around. I've seen a lot more foens, there was a patch in my yard which yielded one subb and the rest foens (weird)

Also, I have tons of Confirmed Subbalteatus spore prints. Should I give them back to the land? Or will these efforts be futile?(don't bitch at me for not posting in cultivation because most of this post is about hunting)

They will grow all summer, even in high heat... you will find the most when it first turns warm and when it first turns cool, though.

if a mushroom is not growing, where your eyes are currently focused, the conditions are not right. Does that make sense? Like right now, I am looking at a computer screen, and there are no mushrooms growing out of it. I have a decision to make....should I just assume the conditions are not right, at this particular time, or should I start a post, which asks, "Hey guys! I was checkin out my comp screen, and I noticed there are no Cubes growing out of it. I live in Washington, and there aren't wild cubes here anyways, is it just not the right conditions?" The one I really like is, "Hey I found a mushroom. It has a light cap. Is that one active?" Anyways, have fun, and good luck with your search for answers to those complex questions.

If the sun refused to shine,
I don't mind,
I don't mind.
If the mountains fell in the sea,
let it be,
It ain't me.
