I bought Be Here Now out of that section with a gift card the other day.
I kind of felt like a dupe buying a book out of the same section as spellbooks and all the other crap.
Oh well~

Hey now. I've found some great books in that section. DMT Spirit Molecule, some McKenna books, Robert Anton Wilson, and if I'm lucky, some Alex Grey books I've seen there a few times.
But yes, overall it is embarassing. Luckily for me I live two blocks away from a metaphysical bookstore. Free ordering and shipping. Its great.

Do they have the complete works of Madame Blavatsky?
I took a look at her years back, way toooooooooo deep for me!
I got into some crowley and krishnamurdi and chogham trungpa and e.j.gold and da free john.....
Some good stuff in there! But they all veer off the deep end at some point ( with the exception of krishnamurdi, he was one right-on nerd, kind of boring in a way, sooooooo sensible!)

In my freshman year in high school, the movie 'The Craft' came out, and all of a sudden there were a million 'covens' of little girl 'witches', all toting around their wicca books and shit.

i'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but when i was about 14 years old, i was very interested in wicca. actually went so far as to have a few little seance type rituals in my backyard, as per the instructions in books like Living Wicca.
as well, there came this woman to a religion class i had to discuss the current practice of nordic 'mythology' - she was maybe 55 years old or something like that, but some of those spells must have been working, 'cause she was damn fine!

Wiccans are funny, i dated one once, i really tryed to understand her for some reason, oh yea she was really hot. But she was always like, "I cast a spell so today would be a good day." Freekin weirdo. Show me a spell that will cast a fireball 500 foot in the air and ill belive its not all full of sheet.

Say all you want about that section, I recently found Tihkal there for half price at B&N. There was like three headers of spell books there though.
