Does good to read the basics over again

Straight from the mushroom hunting FAQ:

Quote:

A set of binoculars can help you scan a pasture quickly and help you to locate groups of mushrooms with ease.

Ehhh?
Guess I missed this when i first read the FAQ a couple years ago.. I'm not sure this is even viable... can anyone imagine spotting the mushrooms if the grass is even remotely tall?
Although, now that I think about it, I'm glad I read this, because it will make is 10x easier to distinguish between orange leaves and chanterelles in the woods, saving me a lot of trouble..
Anyone got first hand info on using binoculars in a field?

Sounds like a bad idea to me. your vision with binoculars is very limited, making it easy to miss things right in front of you.

it couldnt hurt the hunting experience one bit. If you're missing shrooms that are right in front of you, you need more than binoculars.
