If a casing has been sitting around in a warm, slightly humid place (80-85%) humidity for 2 weeks and is about 1/2 covered, can you still get it to pin if you increase the humidity?

WOW brother.....
You have to give more detail then this.
What strain do you have? Whats the temp? have you misted at all? ect :) Has growth stopped. If everything is completely dried up, then your screwed. But if there's alittle life left some where in that casing then there might be some things you can do. We need alittle more then this though.
BTW you might want to bring your RH up to 92-94% since theirs no pins.

Oops my bad :) They are Eq's from Ryche. The growth stopped about 5 days ago. The thing is ive been too busy to go get perlite and i am gonna go tomorrow morning if it is still possible to bring this thing back to life. The temp is about 75-80 at all times. I grew the cakes out of BRF/verm and cased with 50/50. The casing layer doesn't seem to be too dry. Hope this helps you help me :D
And yes I have been misting but this has only kept the humidity at about 80%

Ok good....you wrote back with more info....I think this will do.
Well EQ from what I hear are stubburn to fruit. This is what I hear mind you! I grew them many times with great results. About twice I think....hmmmmm....ya about twice I think I had to cold shock them. No biggie :) Thats easy.
However you need to bring your temps. up to 84F and the humuidity, should be about 94%....for now. GET THAT PERLITE....A.S.A.P. Ok enough with the yelling :) Whats the growth look like on that casing? Is it ropy?

Thanks for replying. Well the growth looks very ropy around the edges and starts getting thinner and thinner towards the middle. So all around the edges it looks pretty good but in the middle not so great. I dunno how to raise temps above what they are at now. I have a 50 watt fish tank heater. You think that will heat it up enough on a smaller terrrarium?

Sounds like the mycl. you have is pretty good. Nice and rizomorphic. Thats a good sign :) What did you case in? Since i've started this great hooby, I have always used pie tins. Cheap, easy to clean, and there just the right size :)
As to why it's growing from the sides in.....not to sure what to tell you. I see people that have fruits(shrooms) that grow from the side only, and never have the middle portion fruit. I never (knock on wood) had this problem.
I have 2 casing right now that are 9" by 6" (pie tins) and have about 150 pins on them.....a peice. PM me with your addy. I'll take a pic. of them and send to your e-mail. You can get an idea of what you'll see.
One more thing......Do you see tiny little cotton balls on your casing. Say about 1mm in size? Some times if your casing is pulling away from the side of your tray, you can look down with a flash light and you might be able to see some of these little balls. I've noticed on occation that the hyphal knots (little balls) will start there first.
