Perlite Probs

Ok, I picked up a huge back of Perlite (P) at the local garden store. It was like 5 bucks so the price is nothing to worry about.
But first thing I notice is that its not white like everyone elses, its more greyish.
Second, its got these black hunks all thru it, like chunks of rock or something.
And finally, I did a test in a pop bottle (2L, middle cut out) and it didnt get any condensation on the sides or anything, really odd. Then I did it again with a rubbermaid (larger one, think I'm gonna get a smaller one to use anyways) and it got very little condensation on the top (lid was damp, or if I ran my finger across it, water dropplets would form on my fnger. And like after 2 days that stoped, theres still tons of water left too.

Any ideas as to whats wrong here? Is my P bad?
