My Bulk Grow
    #4386178 - 07/09/05 08:17 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

This was my first bulk grow, using Tennstud pasturized poo//straw. On 5/25 I spawned 7.5lbs of poo//straw with a generous amount of birdseed spawn. The poo//wbs was compacted into a 10 gal Sterlite with a depth of 2.5" and covered with plastic furniture wrap with holes punched in. It was been 11 days until complete colonization. I cased the substrate with 60//40 verm and coir mix.

Tub is 1 month 2 weeks old and is still going strong:

2 more tubs started using 5lbs of poo each and 1 qt WBS which are just starting to pin:

You would have done a LOT better, had you not compacted the spawned substrate. Read THIS & you might understand - why.

Good grow - for a first bulk one. You - will - get better at it.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm starting 5 more tubs, so I may try making it uncompacted. I was following ShroomGod's straw tek for this grow, and on step 10 it says: "With your fist, push down the straw with all your body weight all over the tub. The straw should be at least 4 inches of even depth and pushed down as well as possible."

Thanks for the advice!
