LC question

I made an LC to possibly make syringes from in the future, I made it with a little honey and water, nuked it for a bit(3 minutes about) and injected a ton of spores in there ( and I mean a lot ), now there are clusters of dark looking specs, and I was wondering does that sounds like: a) contam (I think most likely) b) the spores themself just hanging out with each other (about the same color as the spores themself afterall, and they will break up somewhat easily) c) or can myc growth in LCs look like this early on? ( very hopeful lol)
it has only been a little over two days so I dont think there should be growth yet, but for a contam to be in this quantity already seems a little slim too, my procedure wasnt flawless, but it was pretty clean.

well its not myc and if its a contam it will start to spread rapidly. my guess is actually just spores. how long has it been?

its only been about two days, but it seems at least like there is more volume of spores than i put in( even though it was a lot ) if thats what it is, when they hydrate do they gain a noticeable difference in volume?

its not the hydration its just all those millions of spores you couldnt see with the naked eye have came together to form big clumps.

Incubate and in future nuke for at least 15 mins, I do mine for 30, boil it up on full and turn to defrost. Add lots of water and take into account that a lot will boil off.
3 mins is not enough to sterilize river water. If it was in the micro for only 3 mins in total, it was probably only boiling for 30seconds.

well it was distilled water, but it probably only boiled for aboutt 30 seconds anyway. im pretty sure it wont turn out, but it was a quick thing that happened when i was a little intoxicated and read about an LC involving honey and, thinking i was clever, i said to myself wait dont i have some honey in the kitchen.

ok so its been another day and i have a new question: I decided they were most likely spores, but heres how it looks now: there is some sort of definite growth, its clearish and all connected together floating, but im almost sure its not contam cause its white but thin layered so u can see through it easily. The question is though, there is all this black stuff connected to it almost limited to the outside edges of it, and it looks like the spores that were there, but would the spores be sticking to it, or is it possibly a contam that is growing with or against it and just decided to attach to it? any help is greatly appreciated.

Very possibly the spores sticking to it. Mine with Karo all did this and were fine.

awesome news, that makes for my first actual growth. if i use this to innoc( assuming i let it colonize a little more ) will it cause jars to colonize quicker than just spores?

Whenyou think it's ready to use, do one jar to test. If that jar is O.K after 4-5 days, your LC should be fine. When I use a LC on cakes, I usually harvest them in 15 days. Your cakes should be 100% colonized and ready to birth in about 10 days.
This cake is 13 days old,

Good Luck.

You're welcome. LC's will definitely save you time. After you move to grains, you can go with g2g transfers. You can turn this,

into this,

in a week. Keep on going, onward and upward. Think about bulk and poo next.
Good Luck.

wow thats a lot of jars. bulk may be in the future, but probably not til around septempber. funny thing is, poo would be so easy for me because we have horses, lol. just concerned about the sterilization procedure, because im home for summer, and funny smells and air drying poo may raise some questions. grains will likely be next though, this vermiculite/brf stuff just doesnt seem like it will keep my attention very long if i have success. first things first though, thanks again for the help, real quick if u get this, what substrate is that?

WBS. EQ and P.E.
Poo doesn't smell, by the way.
If you have horses, you could do some outdoor patches and not even have to pasteurize the poo. Just rehydrate.
