I made some rye/verm+coir casings and didn't realize that they only need 1-2 days incubating before the fruiting chamber. There were left covered and dark over the whole July 4th holiday weekend (4 days). They went into the fruiting chamber totally overgrown/overlayed, fluffy white crust over the entirety of all 4 bread pans. Will a deep scratch work to get pins? Will adding another casing layer help? Can they be rescued?
