Bruises brown
Spore print brown
Gills attached and some are white some are brown
Found growing next to a tree stump- England

The pics are pretty small and hard to see but I'm pretty confident that you have a Psathyrella species.
They aren't of any use when it comes to edibility.

the stems are about 3-4cm long and the caps are about 2cm wide- I have left them to dry out a bit and they have started to look a bit different- all the ones that previously had white gills have now changed to a chocolatey brown colour. The caps are now a darker shade of yellow to brown. I don't know what this means but I'm still not going to eat them till I'm completely sure that they're edible. I thought they may have been cubes as they look similar and the description kinda matches up- but what do I know I've never picked before!!
