CAKE TEMPERATURE

its summer and its pretty hot in my place. i injected my cakes with the sporesabout 17 days ago. i only have small white spots. why? is it too hot? does it matter? and if so how can i lower the temperature? any tricks? please help

from what ive read and am experiencing optimal is like between 80 & 85...i achieved this by using two Rubbermaid containers that stack ON TOP OF EACH OTHER AN
D FILL THE BOTTOM container With water and use a aquarium heater and monitor with a thermometer from wal-mart($3.87) also has humidly gage on it.... im on like almost two weeks and am seeing bout %50 myc on brf 1/p pint jars

A little trick I just read (I believe it was Roadkill I should give the credit to) is that after your myc is the size of a nickel, remove the tape and/or any foil that may be covering the tops of your jars....apparently the jars become a bit choked of O2....so this will speed up your colonization. As long as you have vermiculite on top of your substrate in your jar to protect it from contams, you should be okay.
