sure you can.

and you can use Karo instead of honey.

4cc of karo to 96cc of water.

Karo is much cheaper than honey.

I have used both.

LC Liquid Culture - Karo, Honey, Malt ? [Re: oysterguy63]
    #4381739 - 07/07/05 11:47 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I am interested in liquid culture.

I've searched the shroomery and I'm aware or 3 types.

1. Karo
2. Honey
3. Malt (beer making malt, and as a prior home-brewer, I am struck by the sterility issues between beer making and mushroom growing)

My question... Besides cost, is there a real and definitive advantage to one of these, over the others?? speed of growth? ease of preparation?

From what ive read the light karo will give u a clear substance so is easier to inspect on the myc growth/contams whereas the others will give u a nice brown water.

So am I. In all my years of brewing I only had one contam, It was brewed outside for weeks, I have just rinsed buckets with cold water and had perfect brews.

Apple juice can be used too. 2 parts water to 1 part juice (or more water if you want.)

lolzz

in all the years that I have had Thanatos in my title...only one other person knew what it meant.

several people have asked.

one guy listened to the band Thanatos...and thought it was a reference to the band...it wasn't.
But I have heard of the band.

Thanatos is the Greek God of Death...I love Greek Mythology.
