Woodsmiths: Table saw advice needed

My woodshop projects are growing more and more complex.
My current table saw does not cut it and I have an opportunity to expand my shop a little bit.
I want a good table saw and a decent planer/joiner.
I am curious to see if anyone here has any suggestions.
Grizzly seems to be pretty well respected in terms of the planer/joiners...anyone have any suggestions on table saws that will be used for rough and fine work?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure man, but I am getting into woodworking pretty soon here... I am going to get a wood turner and a nice set of blades so I can make some nice chairs and a table for my room. I'm more of a metal worker as a side hobby but I want to know the same as well for wood working. Soon as I can woodwork I can combine the blacksmith and woodworking for some nice pieces.

My dad does woodwork for a living. He's bought a few old, old machines (50's and 60's) and I helped him restore them. Whenever he's bought new machines, like his bandsaw, drillpress, planer, he always went with Grizzly.

I can talk to my Dad for info if you really want me to. His latest hobby (past decade or so) has been woodworking and he has a hell of a shop set up now. He is producing some damn fine pieces. Almost all his own furniture is now hand made by him and it seem like everyone he knows has a piece also (my wife got a beautiful dresser for her B-day a few years back).
Now hes bugging me about getting in there and building some instruments with him. Guitars and basses to be precise. I think I might just take him up on that and build myself a custom, matching set: an electric guitar and a 5-string bass.

check out www.grizzly.com
on the front page at the bottom there is a link to a series of guitars that the president of the company has made using company tools
REALLY nice work.
Ask your dad what a left-tilt table saw is all about?
does that mean that the blade only tilts left or that it tilts both directions cuz all table saws tilt...right?!

Honestly if you want to buy the last table you'll have, I suggest doing what my dad did. He bought an old Delta table saw, around 1950's I think. He restored it and put a big extension table on it. It looks the same as this, but the table is twice as long:

honestly, the old saws are few and far between from what I've been able to find and I'm really in NO position to do restoration work.
In fact, I already have an old saw that I was going to restore and build into a nice rolling cabinet type of setup, but I have other projects I need to do and don't want to have to do that first. Plus it's a little jenky...I paid $100 used for the piece and have gotten TONS of use out of it already.
These grizzlys are effing sweet.

Letto,
do you know if that is a belt driven saw or direct drive?
Roadz,

well, basically with belt drive...the blade can bind up in the wood and the belt will keep spinning.
this is what blows about my current rig...the belt is old and worn so you need you really put a lot of tension in it so that it keeps the axel driving the blade moving.
I called the grizzly peeps and they said that direct drive is dangerous because if it does lock up, the motor is strong enough to snap the rod driving the blade.
I don't think it all matters much...at least with grizzly I can definitely order new belts as needed. Sears is being a bitch about it.
