Pan. Cyan on BRF?
    #4372738 -

Searched....can't dig up the right info.

Can you grow p.cyans in 1/2 pint jars on BRF just like you do P.cubensis?

Psilocybe cyanescens
Doesn't grow on dung, but on hardwoods and woodchips. Inhabits landscaped yards containing ground bark and dwells under Douglas fir or cedar and in mulched rhododendron beds. Fruits prolifically from fall through winter in the Pacific Northwest, also found in England.

you should be able to get it started with a PF cake or grains

Pan Cyans are blue meanies arent they? they grow in dung, the psilocybe cyans grow on wood, I was trying to find this out a while ago, I know the teks say to use wbs or rye for the jars but never mention rice, I would just make a liquid culture out of the spores and try a batch of rice jars, you can use same lc formula as cubensis.

so can it be grown on BRF in jars, and then just birthed as a cake?

if not, how would one case it?

I've only heard of them grown on WBS or Rye spawned to dung.. since you have a whole print to experiment with though, you may as well try a 1/2 pint or two with BRF, just in the name of science

At first you didn't specify if you were talking about
Psilocybe cyanescens

or

Pan Cyanescens

Like was already said the psil. cyans are wood loving while the pan cyans are dung and straw loving. I am sure some Pan Cyan would colonize a BRF cake but I don't know about getting it to fruit.

Hes talking about Pan Cyans, which will not fruit from a BRF cake. You need shit for them to fruit. They'll probably colonize a PF Cake, But I know they colonize WBS and rye well, quarts half filled work great. Then spawn to horse poo, at least 2 inches depth, and a very very thin casing layer, 1/4" or thinner.
