It contains a highly mycelia compatible nitrogen source.
Organic synthesis of active's is generally derived through tryptophan, which is an amino acid containing two (2) nitrogen?s.
Mycelia cannot convert carbon to nitrogen. Consequently, there has to be a source of compatible nitrogen in the substrate, in order to produce relatively high amounts of active?s.

Hmm, wonder if I can enrich my wbs with nitrogen someway. Maybe a tablespoon or two of garden use ammonium nitrate to my soak water. I already put poo and coffee in my soak water with good results. Time to experiment some more

You sure can. Hydrate it with horse poo water.

You're going to have to if soaking grains. I have heard there is beneficial bacteria in poo, but I guess sterile poo is better than no poo at all.
As Underhillmaster asked, will garden nitrogen or some other source be useful to soak in?

What about nitrogen fertilizers? I hear they can be acidic when water is added so more lime may be needed.
When is your substrate going to be out agar?

They had a shipping related problem. Tried to fit 22 to 25lbs of ultra-dry substrate in a domestic 48 state flat rate USPS box & could not.
They have a hydraulic ram press coming, so it can be compacted into a specific weight brick (like coir bricks)that will fit in the box. Once that is delivered, set up & working. They will load the website, & become a sponsor here.

Sounds like it won't be long! Are you going to have agents for outside the US? I am very interested in using it but I am in europe. There are probably ways of shipping very cheaply to the EU from the US. I get DVDs delivered which have only had 25cent paid for post, they take about 6 weeks to arrive, but I am in no hurry.
I wonder if there would be problems exporting stuff like compost though.

I would wager the DVD's came in a parcal post thin ENVELOPE. Envelopes are not bulky & unless over 3 lbs (I think), don't even require a customs form. Anything sent in a cardboard BOX, does require a customs form & gets REAL EXPENSIVE. I know, I have shipped some things to EU several times.
Moreover, customs could be a real hassle, unless you called the content "humas soil sample", or something like that. I think if you declared it - as compost - it might raise eyebrows. As - why would some go to the cost - to send compost - that distance. When you can buy a bag - at a garden supply place - so much cheaper.

They come in envelopes but everything I get from the US has a customs slip on it. I know it would be hassle, thats why I suggested a EU agent that you could ship to in bulk for cheap. I am sure some of the EU sponsers would be interested in it, esp. if its cost is comparable to grain like you said in other posts.

I doubt it would make sense to ship bulk amounts, as it would be costly. The simple thing to do - if a market existed - would be to - make it - in UE.

actualy that would be destroyed as well, most countries worry about foriegn pests and microbes in soil entering their cuontry and causing problems with their crops cars are generaly steam cleaned prior to shipping over seas and most plants and cacti I've purchased from the EU have been shipped with bare roots
