To eat or not to eat?
    #4370560 - 07/05/05 12:18 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

what we have.. p.tampanensis, second or third flush. some shrooms have turned blue and have stopped in development. besides, there are formations on some stems lookin' like small waterdrops, but on a consistence reminding jellies or an agar. next flush growing well now, shrooms seems to be healthy, as it's usual.
so.. if it is a contamination, why next flush not contaminated? maybe it's usual indol coloring because of high temp of the last week(about 30*C) or humidity? then what is that drops on stems? i can post some photos later if it's needed.
and what should i do with such shrooms?
thanks

If it's drops aka water drops then a paper tower LIGHTLY should take them right off, if it doesn't then it's something more and it's always better to air on the side of caution but those are nice!
Take care

it's not a water.. these balls are dense enough to the touch. like an agar or maybe polythene..

Probably some material you used above the mushrooms. High temps would make some petroleum based materials to "melt" and fall on the shrooms.
Did you noticed any strange smell at all ?

There is only food film above the containers. I don't think it could melt at 30*C  Besides, these artefacts are only on some stems (all in one container), neither on the caps, nor on the casing level.. And it smells like mushrooms.
Ok, I thought it's any well-known contamination. If not, maybe it's just a water condensate which have extracted something from shrooms and became more dense. Could this have been?
