fully colonized cakes mixed with whole rye?

My phish have a question. Can they use a totally colonized brf/verm cake to innoculate whole grain rye jars?

And if so is the best way to, cook and sterilize the rye, then mix the 100% colon. cake that is chunked up?

Yes ,that would work. The best bet would be to forget vermiculite and just use whole brown or white rice.
Once the rice is fully colonized just crumble into the jars of grain.
