Martha project finally complete
    #4367211 - 07/03/05 09:28 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

It's been two days of hard work, but my martha closet is finally complete. I set it up according to magash's instructions; however , just the cool mist alone is good enough to keep my humidity around 90% in my location. My cambo casing just started it's second flush, first was in my old PMP, and so far everything is doing great.

I'll try and post some more pictures later of how I set things up incase anyone is interested in how to construct a martha of their own.

It's fairly simple. I'll do my best to explain , and if you still need a picture to figure it out I can take one.

I'm using a Vicks cool mist made by Kaz , so it may be different if you are using a different brand. In the electrical isle at home depot they have water tight fittings with an rubber ring. In my area they only have 3/4 inch ones , but if they have 1' ones where you are get those instead. On the bottom right of the cool mist , where it says KAZ , cut an hole appropriate to the size fitting you got. A hole saw is the best way to do this , but I don't have an 3/4' hole saw so I just drew a circle around the base of the fitting and drilled around the circle till it fell out. Then just stick the fitting in there , and block the regular outlet with a healthy ammount of duct tape.

I prefer using PVC. Cheap, easy to cut, and you don't have to glue it in this application. No pressure. Makes changing things around or adding things a breeze.

I just finished setting up a new greenhouse. Wanted two coolmists running. Finding out what a lot of fresh air can do

I hooked this up in about an hour,

Hope this helps.

So, did you just tape plastic to the carpet underneath the Martha? How do you deal with water that collects down there?
