Outdoor Grow: What to do about bugs/insects?
    #4359839 - 07/01/05 04:02 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

What can one do to keep out bugs/insects from their outdoor grow? Im talking about fly's and slugs/snails in particular.

Thanks!

put a ring of pennies around your mushroom patch.

slugs and snails don't like copper and they won't cross over it to get in.

Flys souldn't bother them much.

It is funny that you should post this but i have just finished watching a gardening program about slug/snail deterrents.

Dry bran about half an inch deep was the best method that they tried. Only problem was that it has to be kept dry. So regular top ups of fresh bran would be needed.

I hope that this helps Gl.

I'm having bug problems too. Earwigs ( http://images.google.com/images?biw=&q=earwig&hl=en ) are eating into the stems and laying a bunch of black eggs. Any idea how to prevent this? anything I could spray on the patch to deter them?
