too much rain bad for pedro?
    #4354775 - 06/30/05 09:31 AM (18 years, 8 months ago)

I have a two foot San Pedro in my garden and it has been raining like crazy for the last couple of days. Between the rains it gets really sunny though.
Will this harm the Pedro?

If you used a well-drained mix, you have no worries.

Cold and wet is bad. Hot and wet is fine.

Yeah it has fresh green and new spines at the top. It also seems to get fatter.
But it's not in a pot. It's planted in the garden:

Last year I got rain almost every day for 2 months. The cacti seemed to like it.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835)

When it is warm they will eat a lot of water...and grow. When cold keep them dry.

"A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda
