quick question about casing
    #4359013 - 07/01/05 12:04 PM (12 years, 28 days ago)

After casing do you need to spray the top layer with water before you put it back in the incubator? The teks i've read don't mention it, but i think its a good question

it should be moist enough, youre supposed to make it moist before you put it on top of your substrate. you shouldnt have to moisten again until you notice it starting to dry out a little.

You want your casing layer to be "near-saturation." (Usually when the water/light makes the casing layer glisten a little... thats were you wanna be.

You should mist till glistening but not over saturated, some will evaporate while incubating.

Good luck and be safe...

Thanks for the quick responses. I was afraid my coir/verm might have lost some moisture when i sterilized it. It was near saturation before I sterilized, i was just wondering if it might have lost some moisture during the sterilizing process...........again, thanks for the quick responses.
