Hi Guys and Gals
This is my first post and I found these at a friends house in Far West Sydney
Are they G. purpuratus or something else.
Your help would be great

They where this colour when picked and sticky on top like a syrup orage brownish.
they where growing out of wet pebbles just after a rain
the gills where as pic but now turning a blue grey brown.
and the tops get darker
the stem is getting a darker orange
Please let me know
Also what is the best way to preserve these and are they consumable??
msg me at samrex@hotmail.com

I have seen some very similar looking mushrooms growing from woodchips, which i have assumed to be strophoria aurantiaca (not active).

I can't see any blue, but even if i did i still couldn't id it.

Take a spore print and don't eat them until an experienced member id's them, which is probably unlikely due to your crap description.

Those are not Gyms. All species of Gymnopilus have yellow to orange gills, drop orange spores, and have non-slimy caps.

I agree with bizzaroSquirrel; those appear to be Stropharias. Another possibility is Hypholoma.

They arent stropharia aurantiaca. I find them all the time and they do not resemble your photo's. I have no idea what they are.
