Lid and Band the jars?
    #4357194 - 06/30/05 11:27 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

PF tek instructs to fill the 1/2 pint jars 3/4 full then to lid and BAND the jars. What does the banding mean? Does that mean screw them tightly? Or band the holes...or what. If someone could help out that would be sweet.

fill them 3/4 full then fill the rest of the way with dry vermiculite. then put the flat lid on and the ring that holds the lid to the jar. the 2 pieces make up the closure for the jar.
peace

Band is the circular threaded ring that goes over the lid. You don't need to crank it down tight, just snug.
