Upside down birthed cakes not pinning
    #4357032 - 06/30/05 10:40 PM (12 years, 25 days ago)

My friend doesnt have the net so he sent me these pics to post up here and ask you guys about. Two of the cakes he birthed upside down and the other one is right way up.

As you can see the two that are upside havnt pinned yet, is this because the one that is right way up still has some vermiculite on top?

Should my friend roll the two upside down ones in vermiculite?
And would it still be okai to take one of the upside down ones and case it?

It looks like one was dunked and rolled and the other two weren't. After I dunk and roll I don't know which side WAS up so I can guarantee direction makes no difference.

Tell him to look under the upsidedown ones, maybe they are growing toward the moisture in the vermiculite

how long have they been in the tub this way?
could be the one that has verm on it (upside down) has a bit more moisture to it than the other two that are right side up.
were they dunked at all?
if not i would say as long as there are not pins dunk and roll them.
yes it would be ok to take and case one or two of them even.
what are the conditions of the tub:temp, rh, etc.
good luck

peace

Put a little moist verm on top these are all upside down.

Then there is dunk and roll

My friend says they were ALL dunked.

The one with vermiculite on the top is the right way up.
The vermiculite ontop is the vermiculite from when the BRF jar was made, you know how you put a layer of vermiculite ontop after packing in all the BRF/Vermiculite.

The other two, are upside down, and they have exposed vermiculite underneath.

The tub just has perlite for humidty so i dont know what the humidty is but the heater underneath is set to 75

Been in the tub this way for bout a week and a bit.

One of the upside down ones has a small pin growing out the side of the bottom, its coming from the vermiculit underneath.

So does this mean the pins only come through vermiculite?
Shoudl i roll the remaining two cakes in vermiculite?
