 NEWBIE, intro, and questions

Hello all, i normally frequent other "drug" boards but have found this place
OK i have never attemted to grow, but i love to eat..it is dry as hell here so i have decieded to give it a whirl
I ordered
from Magic Kits..
1) The Pro-Grower kit
2) Double D aquarium
3) Wheat straw
i ordered spores from i forget
but i got like 8 syringes PR and something else
So basically i guess i am asking you all to wish me luck
i dont know how much 8 syringes will product
but i am doing alot of reading.. and learning
if anyone would like to give me some advice
i would greatly greatly appreciate it

Are these magic kits that you have coming from mushroommagic.com....if they are GOOD LUCK....I ordered from them for my first attempt(before i found this wonderfull site) and I failed miserably...basically what they have you doing is squirting a syringe on top of your substrate inside the aquarium and letting it go from there....what I grew was a large vat of green mold....keep it simple and go with the PF tek..I am having great success now

DrA, that is my story to the letter. mushroommagic might be good for a few supplies and to adapt to a different tek but really there kit Sucks. I would like to here from any one who has used it successfully.

that sounds sketchy!!!
use the MAGIC MUSHROOM GROWERS GUIDE
it can be found on the 'findthemgrowthem' section of this website.
AFOAF followed it exactly on his first time and got excellent results

Stay away from kits----everything in that kit you can find at Walmart for about 70% less----I've seen the green house-----6MM. poly and 1 inch PVC---come on-------design you own chamber using information forums like this one---buy the stuff --and build it----my chamber is posted tonight---the reptile terrarium chamber---check it out---it cost less than a third of the pro growers deal I'm sure

Gee sorry Connan---I read your first post---I didn't realize you bought the kit---I hope it works well for you----I bought one in 1999 but I never really used it---I still use the mister and the Negative Ion generator though---the humidity gauge is nice

goto www.fanaticus.com, and follow the PF Tek. buy all the items you need separately, cos it will save you a mass of cash, and you'll be a better grower for it ;-)

see money is not the issue, i just want good results
i am going to try several different methods,
MMGG method, the kit and maybe another
i am doing alot of research to start, and i must say this forum is a huge help

Put seven syringes in a plastic bag and stick them in the freezer for later when you know what to do with them. PF Tek and one syringe is a good place to start.

I would'nt suggest putting your syringes in the freezer. Just my opinion though.

Here`s the best 2 links out there for a biginner i think, Stick to the basics at first... then think about bulk substrates and casings . You`ll have much less failure rate.
