in LC? essh, the only problem i forsee is an overacidification of the water. you'd have to add a very little amount as to prevent 'choking' of the mycellium

OK, I don't mind saying this, considering my post count versus lemum lw; but the coffee project thread is the ONLY long active thread i have not read.

You can try it. I'm not sure if multispore would germinate or not though. Maybe! Hell if I know. LOL! I do know that coffee mixed with vermiculite will grow mushrooms. Coffee is a good shroom food for all sorts of mushrooms. Rodger uses it for his edibles as well with great results. More and more people are using the spent grinds for helping grain colonization and invitro jars with grains. I've found that coffee contains trace amounts of N-NH3 (ammonical nitrogen). These elements are handy for turning the CO2 from roots of plants into O2 for crops that are going through drought conditions. You know, hard soils? I think this explains the grains abilities to fruit invitro so well. But i'm still working on the theory to prove fact, so don't hold me to this observation.
