nitrous oxide and you
    #4350549 - 06/29/05 12:37 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

I have done nitrous for quite a few years now. for a while they were lots of fun... but the past year or so whippits have been much different. Even though i never got out of hand with them( like 5-10 whippits a year) i have been getting unpleasant results when i use them. usually when one takes a whippit, they get very giggly, hear whaa whaa whaa, and generally get fucked up. if i use them now i get a really bad case of deja vu. its like the world stops and i feel like i have been in that exact moment in time before. for some reason, its a very frightening experience. i also get the feeling as if something or someone is telling me to stop doing all drugs... can anyone explain this? i barely ever use them but why is this happening?

I pretty much always get a wierd deja vu feeling when I do nitrous. Doesn't really bother me, though.

"someone telling me to stop doing all drugs"

That would be your conscience talking. If you keep doing something that you don't like, your mind is going to try to get the point across. It's probably just a normal reaction to a high-stress experience.

what it is is that you have a strong imprint stored in your brain associated with the nitrous experience(could be anything really not only chemicals)

so when you 'revisit' the state of mind you recall that imprint...hence the deja vu

"moments of eternity" can happen quite easily on nitrous and other associative anesthetics.

That deja vu feeling isn't all that strange, either. I get that sometimes on nitrous, and always get it on ketamine (another dissociative).

I know exactly what you're talking about.
The last time I did nitrous, time stopped, and I felt like the moment I was experiencing was a 'replicated' moment, just a copy. It scared the shit out of me, to be honest. I started getting freaked out, and my conscience says to me "you need to quit doing ALL drugs". And I havn't done any since...

A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. but anyways, I always have these great realizations on nitrous, and it is always overnanalyitcal...breaking itself down into smaller and smaller pieces of information, but before my mind can even process the answer, and i amready asking another question, breaking it down, and i can only reach so far though the NO2...only so far...

i also get the feeling as if something or someone is telling me to stop doing all drugs... can anyone explain this?

Well, nitrous directly stimulates the "I don't like drugs" lobes of your brain, also known as the "Nancy Reagan Zone"...

Seriously though, I'm not sure what kind of response you were expecting. Drugs don't do things like give you certain fears or opinions, those things come from your brain. When you get certain thoughts while under the influence of drugs, it's not because the drugs have the effect of making you believe specific things.

Overwhelming or unpleasant drug experiences might lead you to believe that you should quit drugs... for the same reason overwhelming or unpleasant rock climbing experiences would make you want to quit rock climbing.

It's a drug with psychedelic properties, of course weird and uncomfortable things can happen with it. I'm really not sure what kind of answer you could possibly be expecting regarding this... you probably don't have the neurochemistry background to be too interested in the science of how nitrous affects your brain, and other than that, what kind of answer could possibly be given other than "You were tripping out, dude"?
