So fucking excited.
It's gonna be raining, I'm gonna dose, and I'm gonna dance.
And you may find yourself...living in a shotgun shack! And you may find yourself...in another part of the world!

The first time I ever saw David Byrne was at Bonnaroo with Lucy, she loved it.

Like Cerv said, go stand outside Summerstage. The sound is crisp and clear outside and I have lots of friends that go to Summerstage shows all the time without paying. If it was nice weather, I'd say set up a picnic outside and everything, but since it's raining, just eat some mushies and go dance in the mud!

Speaking of which, now I don't know if I should eat a tab or not...my girlfriend's gonna be all "but I don't wanna do it, and I don't wanna be the only person not doing it" cause our 2 friends want to drop with me...plus it's raining, but if anything rain + David Byrne has to = fantastic.

Hey, have a good time Mr. Robot. This is probably the only time I've been jealous of any shows you've been to. Actually no; you've seen Kraftwerk.

Thanks, I think I will have a fine fine time...just gotta decide whether to dose or not, really torn on it.

As much as I love drugs, I probably wouldn't dose for that show.
I feel that concert wouldn't be enhanced by drugs; in fact, the distraction might even lessen the experience. When I'm really serious about the music I'm going out to hear, I go sober, believe it or not.
That's just me, though; if you're leaning towards tripping, don't let me dissuade you.

I totally see what you mean, and that's exactly how I felt the first time I saw David Byrne - luckily for me that was also my 21st birthday so drugs weren't in the picture, and I didn't even drink one drink before the show because I wanted to experience him completely sober. Now that I have that tucked under my belt though, this is kind of a whole new ballgame. It could be a religious experience, with the thunderstorms creeping in like they are.

Ahh, that kinda changes it. Given those circumstances, I would trip. It's like me & the Van Gogh museum... the first time I went, I went sober (just stoned), but the next time I went to Amsterdam, I tripped my balls off at the museum.

So you see my dilemma then! Really it has less to do with my desires than my girlfriend's mood, which is unfortunate...I love her to death but damn I wish drugs weren't such an issue sometime. She's less interested in them these days, and I'm more interested in them...and I wish she could just be chill about me doing them. Well I guess I'll just see what kinda vibes I get off of her when my friends get here and we start talking about it, because they'll end up dosing even if I don't.

That is too bad about your gf.... when one person is getting less interested in drugs, and another is getting more involved, that's a recipe for friction and conflict. Good luck with that, bro.
I'm sure if you just logically explain that you've seen Byrne live once sober, and now to complete your existence, you have to see him on cid, she'll understand. Hopefully.
